The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Well, this is my first blog ever.  First time ever doing something close to this.  This form of expressing my personal ideas, opinions, and beliefs, deeply fascinates me.  So I figured what they heck, might as well try!
As you probably all know, today is described with candy canes, Santa presents, family and giving.  You know, Santa comes on his sleigh, leaves the presents for good boys and girls, and coal for the not-so-good.  I love this time of year.  Rare anger occurrences, everyone being kind, and happiness drifting around like smoke from a chimney.  To often, however we get caught up in certain spots of this holiday that appear like a good attributes of it.
A lot of the time, from a moral stand point, it appears as if these frequent misconceptions are the correct ways to view this time of year.  An example is the personal enjoyment of someone else's eyes igniting with light at the view of the present they had not suspected.  The attribute of giving is by no means one to be second guessed, however, whatever we give cannot even sit next to the true gift that was given on CHRISTmas.
The reason for the season is so much more than what modern day America has portrayed.  The real purpose of, and explanation as to why we celebrate this loved holiday is to celebrate a King's birth.
Although deserving, this King was not born in a fancy setting.
This King was born in a manger (Luke 2:12).  This King (typed with the capital k to represent that he is God), had the lone purpose of living to die.  Not to die for only his best bud, only his mother, only his family, but for everyone.  He died a brutal death to give us salvation.  He died to unite the Jew and Gentile.
The bible tells us that this gift of eternal life is given for whoever believes upon Jesus.  Belief, used in a definition of so much more than just a thought process, can carry us (through God's grace) to an eternal life in heaven.
To believe you must first know you are a sinner.  The bible says ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  That means every being has broken God's commandments.  This is punishable by a consequence not comparable to physical death, due to its horror, and eternal sentence.  This punishment is eternal seperation from God, aka, hell.  Hell is just a real place as your kitchen is.  Satan would like nothing more than to have your sould.  But, to our undeserving benefit, we had a savior die for us.  A Man die, so that we may have life after death.  So we may see the light, and be seated at the right hand of the Father.  So that we have a purpose.  By accepting this gift, and living the life God want's us to live, we can indulge in this present.
This will not be the easiest life to adjust to.  It will however, be the most rewarding.
If this touched you, simply pray to God saying "Lord, i know i am a sinner, i know i have broken your commandments, and I know i am an undeserving person.  But Lord God, i know, through your son's sacrifice, that i can have a life after death.  I want you to come into my life, and take it over.  Help it to be a city upon a hill, shining for your glory throughout the land.  Thank you for the gift of salvation.  Amen."
This, my friends, is what CHRISTmas is about.  The reason for the celebration, and why it is the most wonderful time of the year.  Jesus wants you to open this present he has given you, and to use it for the kingdoms glory.

Merry CHRISTmas, and God bless.  p.s. Check this video out
